Beastie Boys is a trio consisting of Michael “Mike D” Diamond, Adam “ADROCK” Horovitz, and the late Adam “MCA” Yauch (1964–2012), formed in 1981 as part of New York’s hardcore punk underground. The group’s first full-length album, Licensed to Ill, was the first rap album to reach #1. With seven multi-platinum albums from 1986 to 2011, including Licensed to Ill, Paul’s Boutique, Check Your Head, Ill Communication, Hello Nasty, To the 5 Boroughs, and Hot Sauce Committee Part Two, Beastie Boys are one of the longest-lived hip hop acts worldwide. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012, received the MTV Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award in 1998, and have won three Grammy Awards.

Die Beastie Boys begleiten mich bereits sehr lange, seit der legendÃ¤ren Platte Licensed to Ill habe ich die komplette Diskographie gehÃ¶rt und gefeiert.Selbst das letzte Album Hot Sauce Commitee Part. 2 hat mich umgehauen, es ist bemerkenswert wie sich die drei nach 25 Jahren nochmal neu erfinden und eine absolut geniale Platte herausbringen.Als MCA 2012 leider viel zu frÃ¼h verstorben ist fÃ¼hrte das zur BandauflÃ¶sung was mich persÃ¶nlich sehr traurig stimmte.Das Buch ist lange erwartet und von Michael Diamond sowie Adam Horovitz selbst verfasst, das merkt man sofort da die Texte frei von der Seele verfasst sind auch die Aufmachung der einzelnen Kapitel ganz dem Stil der Jungs entspricht. MitreiÃŸend werden die AnfÃ¤nge in New York 1979/80 erzÃ¤hlt inklusive des Feelings und Anekdoten wÃ¤hrend dieser Zeit, man hat das GefÃ¼hl live dabei zu sein.Es gibt wenig BÃ¼cher die mich so stark gefesselt haben und es ist eine klare Kaufempfehlung fÃ¼r jeden Musik und natÃ¼rlich Beastie Boys Fan, da wirklich kein Detail ausgelassen wird und es tiefe Einblicke in die SpezialitÃ¤ten des Musikbusinesses gibt. #RIPMCA

Jetzt bereits ein Klassiker. Alles Ã¼ber die Band, viel Ã¼ber die Zeit, das Umfeld, NY, und natÃ¼rlich die drei Jungs.Nicht zu vergessen: die Fotos.Also: wer dieses Buch nicht hat, hat was verpasst.
